Why Harris Tweed?

Harris Tweed is the only fabric in the world governed by it’s own Act of Parliament. As such it must be made from pure virgin wool which has been dyed and spun on the islands and handwoven at the home of the weaver in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

Warm in winter and cool in summer Harris tweed resists water, cleans easily and its hard wearing nature means it stands the test of time. This classic fabric never goes out of style and provides the perfect tweed for Harriet Hoot.

Harriet Hoot uses only authentic Harris Tweed which is supplied from the Isle of Harris. Each garment carries the silk label of authenticity.

Donegal Tweed

Donegal tweed hails from County Donegal where sheep thrive on the rich environment which provides the natural dyes to this wonderful cloth. Donegal weavers have been producing this tweed for centuries. Woven into a number of patterns, it is a soft, silky tweed exuding quality and luxury.

Harriet Hoot use only authentic Donegal Tweed which is supplied from Magee 1862 in Donegal. Each garment carries the black label of authenticity.
