Notice Regarding Farmkey and Horse Theft
Farmkey have received word from a customer saying that a man had just come onto their yard, stating that he worked for Farmkey and needed to see the passports of their horses to check they had a record of the Freezemark number on the passport.
We think that the man had gathered that the horses are freezemarked by Farmkey from the gate sign that they had on the paddock. When the customer queried this, the man produced a card with the Farmkey logo and photograph ID saying that his name was Martin.
Farmkey state that they do not have a technician called Martin and that they do not give photograph ID. They also advise that people do not allow anyone onto their yard without a prior appointment or checking with the Farmkey Office before allowing access.
