Results of the June 2011 Walled Eye Survey
Wall eyes (walleyed, blue eye) in horses are very much like marmite, you either love them or hate them! but how do they affect your choice of horse"
It's good news for anyone selling a horse or pony with a walled or blue eye, the results of our survey indicated that the majority aren't concerned. It did however, indicate that a similar number of people who expected to pay less also believed that it does reduce vision.

Read a small selection of the comments made...........
"...I have an amazing showjumping pony who has a wall eye she jumps 1.30/1.40 with put thinking we paid 5500 for her from an Irish dealer there is nothing wrong with blue eyes and people should not be so ignorant to think they have no or reduced vision or you shod pay less for them.if I was to sell my pony now she would be worth top end of 12000 pounds know who's laughing!!!..."
"...not very nice to look at but beauty is as beauty does..."
"...Its purely a cosmetic preference thing for me, I am not aware of vision problems and I dont think I would discount a horse because of it..."
"...Same as any other horse.. but with a more unique appearance...."
"...I like them and think they are unusual..."
"...Eye colour for me is not an issue. There are more important things to think about when buying a horse..."
"...I think they look gorgeous, as does any horse..."
"...they are lovely!..."
"...They are just horses no different than if they are certain coat colours...."
"...it isnt everyones cup of tea but there is something about them that i think is lovely. i had a piebald with 1 wall eye and the other was slightly too!..."
"...I like blue eyes personally,I think they are a little unusual and pretty,we even own one with a wall eye :-)..."
"...a little bit freaky..."
"...I like them. It's very striking. I've known a few horses with wall eyes and they haven't seemed to have any problems with their vision. I always thought it was just a colouring..."
"...I own a horse with a walled eye which doesn't concern me..."
